Static project

Our newest brief is simply called 'Static' and involves us interpreting the word static however we want. I struggled to get going with this as there are so many directions to go in... In the end I decided I wanted to use my manual camera that I purchased from Berlin last year. It is all manually set aperture, shutter speed etc so you never truly know what you're going to get until you go and get the film processed. This is what I love about it and so rather than thinking too much about what I wanted to take the photos of I just started experimenting.... here are some of the photos I got that I feel were most successful..

Amazing........ Just amazing!

Summer Project

^^^^^^ To design 4 posters for arthouse films. We had the freedom to decide whether we wanted to create the film posters for a festival in the location of our choice, or just for the films themselves.
I decided to design my film posters for a film called 'Destricted.' The film is an hour and a half long and is compiled from seven short films from well acclaimed directors including Marina Abromovich, Sam Taylor - Wood and Gaspar Noe. The film is a celebration of sexuality in film and is bordering on pornography... I thought it might be interesting to design for this and make it not look like a film entirely based on this subject. I did a poster for each of the seven films and got inspiration for the type and image from old milk bottles in the 1950's, I liked how the innocent typeface and discreet images do not look at first glance like they are advertising a film so sexually explicit. I also decided to have the film being shown in two of the most well known arthouse cinemas in the world- Sunshine Cinema, New York and Curzon Cinema in London for one week only. As the seven short films come together to make one film, I had Destricted- the film name, running through the back of the cinemas so that when they are seen together they look like a set.
